VitalPAC alerts staff as soon as a patient's condition begins to deteriorate and supports the rapid and appropriate escalation of care.
Deterioration identified
- With an array of electronic charts viewable from any VitalPAC device, the system clearly displays changes in a patient's condition
- VitalPAC automatically calculates each patient's Early Warning Score (EWS). This can be based either on the VitalPAC Early Warning Score (ViEWS), the most accurate published EWS, or on the hospital's own scoring system.
Care escalated
- Nurses are shown clear and appropriate escalation messages when a patient's condition is deteriorating
- Doctors are automatically messaged when they need to review a patient. They can also set patient specific alerts for individual vital signs.
Response monitored
- Doctors inform ward staff if they are going to attend and record any action subsequently taken
